When the river takes the floor, the first fight is cholera. We pre-stage ORS, water tabs, and raised clinic platforms before the monsoon, not after the appeal.
Chars appear and vanish. PH44 works with boat clinics out of Khulna and keeps a monsoon cache on ground that stays dry in a normal year — and has a plan for the years that are not normal.
The work is unglamorous: sachets, tabs, a platform, a radio. Cholera does not care about branding. It cares whether the sachet arrived before the well went brown.
We measure this desk in cases that did not happen. That is a hard number to fundraise on. It is the right number.
